I'm trying to decide between a 2012 Hyundai Elantra and a 2012 Hundai Civic. Can someone help me decide?

If you look at some independent research, it’s an easy choice.
Not only is the Elantra a better car, but it’s also less expensive when comparably equipped.
Throw in the fact that the Elantra has a way better warranty and it’s a no-brainer.
Honda made a huge mistake with the 2012 Civic. It is completely redesigned to look like a 2002 Camry. While still reliable, the Civic is unimaginative and uninspiring.
The Elantra starts at $16,445. Not sure where the other person is getting their ‘facts’.
Most of what Heather Reed said is completely not true and there are no sources that would support most of that argument. The only thing I agree with are that Honda’s are reliable and they have better resale value. Of course there are more Civics on the Road. They used to be more reliable and they have been in the USA twice as long as Hyundai.
There are no 08 Sonatas for $4,000 unless they have 200K miles, or more, on them (that would actually prove Hyundai’s reliability right there).
No one in their right mind would buy an 04 Civic with 200K miles for $12K.
That’s just downright foolish nonsense.
There’s no such vehicle as a Hyundai Civic.
do some more research. You are quite confused or completely daft.
This is probably no help, but I’ve heard a lot of good things about the Civic. Check out the statistics and whatnot on Edmunds.com (and I’m soooo not spamming you, really I use the site to compare vehicles)
I can answer that! Here’s the deal, so listen big time! The new 2012 Hyundai Elantras sure are beautiful, they have what seem to be quality immenities, GREAT gas mileage, flashy looks, all the special stereo stuff, and now they’ve even got things like heated seats, and navigation if you pay enough. You can find a new Elantra starting at about $22,000 and it goes up. Not a bad price for a brand new car. But here’s the thing you have to look at, what that car is going to be in 5 or 8 or even 10 years down the road. Seriously, look around the next time you’re driving out somewhere, and look at the hyundais on the road. They are beat up, falling apart, paint faded, sound terrible, and more often than not, they’ve become a hunk of junk that the people are still paying $300 a month for or more. And the resale value, or the value that the next dealership will give you when you go to trade it in, is horrible. I saw a 2008 Hyundai Sonata, the top of the line model sitting on a used lot for $4000. 3 years ago that car cost some idiot $25000. Now here’s the thing with Honda Civics. They last forever. I still see Honda Civics running around from the 1970′s. That’s almost 40 years ago! Yes, they cost more than say a Chevy Cobalt or a Toyota Corolla, but here’s the deal, they are worth every penny that is on that price tag- IF it is brand spanking new. And here’s the flip side of that resale value that I was talking about- I’ve seen 2004 Honda Civics with like 200K miles on them still going for more than $12 grand. So your best bet is to buy one brand new, go ahead and pay that $22 or $23 thousand for the little coupe SI version, which is the super sporty model with better looks and more horsepower, or be even more economic and get the Hybrid 4 door for about $23,500 and drive it til you’re dead because it will probably still be going. They have better crash test ratings, the quality of materials they are built with is much higher than hyundai, when you take them to get repaired, it will cost probably half of what it would to repair a hyundai, they last longer, get better gas mileage, and you pretty much can’t kill them unless you wreck it beyond reasoning. I think a Honda Civic is one of the best buys anyone can make in the car industry. And yes, I know ALOT of people have Civics, but here’s the thing, people stick with things that are good. Not stuff that’s crap. Which is why there is a 15:2 ratio of Hondas to Hyundais out there. Honda is quality, Hyundai is if you wish you could have a Honda but can’t pay for it. Best of luck!
Honda’s have a betta reputation that most cars!
