if it,s fuel injected then it has a cam sensor.did you try auto zone? i bought mine there. if they don,t have it they can order you 1.
GM 1.9L motors does not have a camshaft sensor. You call the dealer and they will tell you the same.
You wonder why GM deserved to go bankrupt.
Anyway, you have an ignition problem. Is it time for a tune-up? Change the spark plug wires, spark plugs and clear the code. See if it comes back.
Obviously, if the code error states it is a camshaft sensor, there is a camshaft sensor. My first checks are usually the local parts store such as Autozone, Advance Auto, Auto Value, Performance Automotive, Pep Boys, ect. Then conduct a search for that part number on Ebay (why not?) and see if you can find it there.
No, there is no cam sensor on that engine although it does have a code for it. That engine calculates cam timing by measuring the amount of KV it takes to fire the number one cylinder plug on it’s compression stroke and compares it the KV of the ‘waste spark’ on cylinder 4 on the exhaust stroke.
Strange, I know.
GM/Saturn actually has a Technical Service Bulletin on the cam sensor code. The cause is bad ignition parts.
I would start by putting AC/Delco spark plugs and plug wires on it. If the code comes back, replace the coils and module.
I’ve ran into a few of these in just the last year.
