Cited for passengers not wearing a seat belt, how much would the fine be in California?
I’m 18 years old, this is my first ticket given to me by a cop. I had 4 passengers in the back seat of a 5 person car. None of the passengers in the back seat were wearing a seat belt. The cop only cited me for it, when all the passengers were at least 16 years of age. I was wondering how much the fine could be since i was cited for all 4 of them not having a seat belt on. Also, will any points go on my license and will my insurance rate go up?

$15000 per person. Your the dad of the car, scream to them, "dont make me turn this car around" since your the only grown up. Besides, why are there 4 in the back when it only seats 3? Move the weakest link to the front.
$20 + minimum $122 court costs. One ticket should be one set of court costs, don’t know how the per-passenger part works out. No points – there are points if a child is not restrained but not for 16 and over, so no worries about your insurance rates.
